Data collected by the U.S Department of Education before and during the COVID-19 pandemic shows that "in-person learning, on the whole, leads to better academic outcomes, greater levels of student engagement, and better social and emotional well-being".
Ms. Way is currently a Geometry teacher at Valley Christian High School and has been teaching for over 25 years! She has a masters degree in education and is trained in occupational therapy. She is constantly asking herself, “How will the brains of students optimally process new learning?” In 2012-14 her master’s thesis studied digital technology and its reshaping of cognitive processing. From this master’s thesis, she developed what she nicknamed “Brain-in-Hand” learning. "Brain-in-Hand" incorporates methods that encourage kinesthetic learning and gradually work towards student independence. Learning Bridge Foundation is proud to announce that we will be utilizing Ms. Way's curriculum to train our tutors!
